People fascinate me. The camera gives me an excuse to talk to them. “Would you care if I take your picture?” Surprisingly, the vast majority say yes. These photos combine the somewhat formal style of portraiture with the spontaneity of street photography.

Parades and outdoor parties are great places to take street photos. People are friendly. They are relaxed and don't mind the camera. Most of these pictures were taken in Minneapolis, downtown and on Lake Street.
